But, have you ever watched your everyday videos and thought, "What if I could sprinkle a bit of that Doodly magic here?" If you nodded (or even if you're just curious about what Doodly can offer), you're in the right place!
For the Doodly experts, we know the joy of seeing our doodles animate and tell a story. For the new users, welcome to a world where creativity knows no bounds. Imagine combining the dynamic world of video with the playful charm of Doodly animations. The result? A visual treat that resonates, entertains, and sticks in viewers' minds.
But the burning question remains: How do we make this blend perfect? How can a little post-it doodle from Doodly dance over our main video without looking out of place? Fear not, for today, we're diving deep into this exciting process, making sure your videos stand out in the best way possible. Let's get started, shall we?
Everyone loves Doodly. While most of us enjoy making fun animations with it, have you thought about how cool these drawings would look on regular videos?
When you integrate your Doodly doodles, you’re giving viewers a glimpse into your unique STYLE and personal TOUCH.
The occasional Doodly doodle can offer a FUN break, keeping viewers engaged and making your content STAND OUT.
It can also simplify complex ideas, making explanations EASY and MEMORABLE.
Doodles have a NOSTALGIC charm; they remind many of us of school and scribbling days.
And in today's crowded online space, that Doodly touch can make your videos TRULY UNIQUE.
So, adding a Doodly overlay to your videos isn't just about fun drawings; it's about making your videos more engaging, getting people to connect with them, and making them stand out.
Ready to see how to do it? Let's dive in!
Adding Doodly doodles to your videos is a great idea, but first, we need to get a little crafty. Let's break down the steps so you can make your Doodly sketches pop out on any video:
Step 1: Planning Ahead
Before diving in, take a moment to think. Imagine how you want your doodle to appear on the video. Is it a playful note popping up in the corner? Maybe it's a big title smack in the middle. Whatever you choose, make sure you design your doodle with its final place in the video in mind.
You might have seen this vibrant, almost neon green in movies or on TV when they're doing special effects. It's not a fashion statement but a tool! That specific shade of green isn't common in natural human skin or clothing, which makes it easier to separate from other elements in videos. That's why we're using it here for our Doodly background.
Within Doodly, navigate to Settings. There you'll find the gear icon for 'Custom'. Click on it and opt for 'custom color’. This is where you'll pick that signature bright green, setting your animation up for the next steps.
With your animation ready and background set, it's time to export your video. Patience is key here, especially if your animation is intricate or long. Give Doodly a minute to work its magic.
Remember, the goal is to create a video where the bright green can later be made invisible, leaving only your creative Doodly animations to shine through on top of another video. With these steps, you're laying the groundwork for that special effect. Ready to see how it all comes together? Let's keep going!
Now that you already have your Doodly video prepared for transparency, the next phase involves using an external editor to blend it with your primary video seamlessly. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you achieve this:
For this guide, we're using veed.io. It's an online tool that's free and simple to navigate. But you're welcome to use any editor you're familiar with.
Start by uploading your main video to veed.io. This will be our primary video, and everything else we add will build on top of this.
Now, it's time to bring in the Doodly video with the green background. Navigate to the 'media' option on veed.io and choose 'upload a file'. Locate your exported Doodly video and upload it.
Once both videos are on veed.io, you can adjust the Doodly video's position. You can move it around, resize it, and decide the best spot on your main video.
This is where the magic happens! Don't click the 'remove background' feature. Instead, select 'green screen'. This option provides precision in removing the bright green background from your Doodly clip. To achieve this, click on the eyedropper tool and select the green area. Adjust the sensitivity as needed to ensure only the green disappears, revealing your Doodly animation atop your main video.
Before finalizing, play your video from start to end. Ensure the overlay is seamless and the timing is just right. If something looks off, veed.io offers various tools to tweak and perfect your combined video.
Once you're satisfied, save then export your project. But keep in mind, if you're using the free version of veed.io, they might add their watermark to your video. If you prefer a video without watermarks, consider upgrading or using a different tool.
With these steps, you've successfully blended your Doodly video with your main footage, enhancing its appeal and engagement.
