Collaborating with colleagues is always the best way to go if you want to make your workload lighter. Not only does it strengthen your working relationship, but it also makes achieving your organization’s shared goal easier and faster.
The biggest challenge in creating explainer videos is that it can sometimes take so much time, but it doesn’t have to be that way. You can always collaborate and delegate tasks to colleagues at work. The same applies if you are creating non-work-related videos with friends or family members. Say you need to make a presentation about your family tree. You can assign certain portions of your video to some of your family members. After everything has been created, you can combine these Doodly videos into one.
In today’s blog, we listed down the different ways of putting together two or more Doodly videos to create that one final video. But first, let’s talk about how we can share the workload using Doodly.
The beauty of having a Doodly account is that you can install it on multiple computers. You can leave the work at home and continue working on it in the office. You can also share your logins. As long as you trust the person you are sharing your logins with, you can share it with them and edit the same video that you are working on. It will definitely make the video creation process fast. Plus, you get several sets of eyes to check your work, which helps make everything in your video spot on.
There are several ways to get two or more Doodly videos into one presentation. Let’s take a look at our list below.
If you have just completed your first Doodly video and your script is ready for the second presentation, you might want to build them onto the first video instead. Start by duplicating your first video. It is important to work on the duplicate and not the original. The original video will serve as your backup should you need it as you continue editing your video.
If you have completed your first and second Doodly videos, and you decided to merge them, you can copy-paste the assets from the second video and add them to your first.
The first two options are great, but you have to note that adding more scenes and assets to your video might result in a longer export time.
Another option is to use a third-party video editing software to merge your videos. Some of these video editing apps let you apply filters, change resolution, add texts, etc. If you have one installed on your computer, you can use it. If you don’t, you can install one, but in most cases, these apps are not for free. In fact, some of them are quite expensive. So, if your video won’t require editing and filters, you can use our fourth option instead.
If you’re just simply merging your videos, you can use PowerPoint. It is free and it is just sitting on your computer waiting to be used.
Say your department needs a business presentation. You don’t need to assign the video editing task to one person only. You can delegate each topic to your team members and just merge the videos after. This way, your presentation will be completed much faster. Most computers have Microsoft installed and that includes the PowerPoint software so you don’t really need to purchase it.
A. Start with a clear page. Remove the edit text template in PowerPoint.
B. Next is to click the Insert tab and then select Videos. Choose This Device from the options given and locate your video from your computer. Once the video is imported, extend its edges until your video fully covers the blank white page of PowerPoint.
C. After adding your first video, you need to add new slides and import the rest of the Doodly videos.
D. You will see that as you add a video, several Design Ideas appear on the right side of your PowerPoint page. These designs will definitely make your presentation pretty but if you are happy with your individual videos, you can keep it as it is.
E. One feature that you might want to apply to your Doodly video is the transition effect. PowerPoint provides several great transition effects that you can choose from. To add one to your video, select the Transitions tab and choose your preferred transition. You can hit Apply To All if you wish to apply the same effect to all of your videos. You can also make the transition a little longer by adjusting the time under Duration.
F. Background music is another excellent addition to your video. PowerPoint support this feature. However, it does not have the option to add a fade-out effect to your track which causes your music to stop abruptly. If you wish to add an audio track to your video, you may want to use an audio editing software to trim your music first. After cutting the music track to the same duration as your video, add a fade-out effect and import it to PowerPoint. You can also insert a voice-over using Doodly or PowerPoint since both support voice recording.
G. Lastly, we need to export the video. To do that, we go to File, select Export, and choose to Create a Video then select your preferred file size.
H. Once again, you will see the option Create a Video. Select it when prompted and set a unique name for your project.
And that’s it! We have successfully merged our different Doodly videos.
You can extend your video’s hand animation duration, add delay, or add extra time after each scene. You can also add voice-over and music which you can do both in Doodly and PowerPoint.
We hope you enjoy our quick how-to blog for today. Until next time. 🙂
