The internet is a great place to get your brand on. Through video, you can convey a lot of information in a short period of time. You can engage with your audience and make it easier for them to remember you. With the right logo placement and editing, you can help define your brand from other businesses on the web. This can be used as a more effective way to connect with your customers instead of just using social media or pop-ups for advertising.
In today’s article, we will go over the best techniques for branding your Doodly videos so that people remember who you are and what you stand for.
If you’re a business owner, marketer, or entrepreneur, it’s important to understand that video marketing is a popular and effective way to market your brand. With today’s technology, creating videos has never been easier. It is a good practice to include your logo in every video you make and post on social media channels. The name of your business, the logo, and the brand colors are all important things that should be included in your marketing videos.
Branding is not just about having a logo or a name in front of your video. It’s all about having consistency between all your marketing videos so that viewers can easily recognize what they are watching and who they are watching it from. If you are creating lots of different types of marketing videos, and want a consistent brand throughout, then brand integration is the way to go. Branding means integrating your logo into an element or attached to a component.
Branding is important for several reasons:
The first thing you want to do is to decide where to place the logo in your video. Make sure that your logo and the company name are both visible when your video is played. This is the key to branding. If you don’t have a clear image of your brand in mind, consider using graphics or images that represent what makes you unique as a business. Make sure that these visuals are consistent throughout all marketing materials—from websites and social media pages to email newsletters and brochures—so they remain top-of-mind when customers encounter them.
In most cases, you want the branding to be visible at all times. You can do this by adding the logo to all of your scenes in Doodly. There are also times when you want your brand to appear only at the beginning of your video and then reappear at the end. Others prefer to only reveal the logo in the middle or end of their video. However you want to set your logo is fine, just keep it small so it won’t overpower your presentation. Now if you’re ready, let’s look at the steps on how you can effectively add your logo to your Doodly video.
The first option is to add the logo to every scene in your video. You can choose to position it in areas where it is clearly visible in every scene. The best time to add the logo is either the start or the last portion of your video creation process. You can add all the blank scenes you need, then add the logo to the first scene. After that, copy the logo from the first scene and paste it into the rest of the blank pages. Keep pasting it until you reach the last scene.
If you have scenes with characters or props that cover the original position of your logo, feel free to move your logo to a different area in your scene where it is visible.
There are two ways to reveal your logo: the fade-in effect and the custom path reveal.
a. Fade-In Effect
The default animation for everything imported in Doodly is the draw effect. Newly imported props and characters don’t have draw paths on them yet so they are being scribbled. If you don’t like your logo being scribbled, you can apply a fade-in effect.
To set a fade-in effect, select the logo from your Doodly scene and click the pencil icon. This will launch the Edit Asset screen. You will see that the live preview is set to Draw, revealing the logo in a scribbled way. To change this, locate the Reveal Mode on the right side of the screen and select Fade. If the fade-in effect takes so long to complete, you can adjust the animation duration to 1 second. Don’t forget to save the changes made.
b. Custom Path Reveal
Have you seen videos where brand logos are drawn? This is a great way to build brand awareness, increase traffic, and create buzz – all while entertaining your audience. Although getting the right precision in your draw path will make your drawing look clean and nice, you don’t necessarily need to spend too much time making perfect draw lines. Remember that your image will only be revealed for 3 seconds or maybe less so it’s okay to create those little smudges if you can’t really avoid them.
Just like when you apply the fade-in effect, you need to get the Edit Asset screen. Start by plotting those small dots to your logo. If your draw path is too small, increase its size to cover more portions. You can zoom in on your logo for you to easily see and add those draw paths. The Live Preview will show you how your draw paths look when revealed. You can adjust the animation duration if you want your logo drawn faster or slower. You don’t want your viewers to wait for your logo to finish drawing for 5 to 10 seconds so setting it to 3 seconds is fine.
Now our next technique involves adding your logo to every scene, but instead of adding it manually, we do it from the Video Settings. We call it a persistent logo because it stays in the same exact place despite the changing scenes. If you remember our article about creating a watermark, this is also the same process. We will upload the logo as a background.
Here’s how you do it:
Click Settings to launch Video Settings. Choose Browse File, then locate your file from your computer.
If you want the logo to appear at the bottom right, then your uploaded file should reflect that so it perfectly fits your Doodly video. The suggested file size of your uploaded background should be 1920 x 1080.
Doodly supports several file formats: JPG, PNG, and SVG. There are still images you can use for your logo, like those used in your blog or website. The other file format is GIF (Graphics Interchange Format). GIF is a very popular method of displaying short animation. It is not only used as a marketing tool but also as a way of promoting yourself. A logo should be an attractive and growing trend, which makes it an important element in video promotion. Thus, having a moving logo on your video will surely accentuate and capture your viewer’s attention.
The last factor to consider when adding a logo is to make sure that the fonts and colors used on your video match your logo and brand design. That includes your texts, background, and even the characters and props if you want. By using your logo’s color and font style, it will actually be easier to promote your brand and can help bring more attention to your video.
Copying the color of your logo is easy. All you need to do is to first know the hex code of the color from your logo. If you don’t know it yet, you can use an online tool that can help identify hex codes of images. A sample website that you can use is imagecolorpicker.com. All you have to do is upload your logo, hover your cursor on the color you wish to copy and it will give you the hex code.
To use the hex code in Doodly, simply choose the font style you want to use in your scene. Select the gear icon to open the Asset Settings. Click Color to open the color palette and paste the HEX code on the HEX field. Hit Apply after. You can scroll through the list of font styles and choose the best style for your video.
In a nutshell, adding a logo to your Doodly video is so easy and fun. Don’t forget to keep your logo simple. A small logo adds more personality to a video than a big one. Just remember that you’re trying to add your logo, not additional props to your video. We hope that in reading through this article, you have learned something new that will help make your Doodly video even more effective. Remember to think outside the box while using some of the tips mentioned here in order to make one that will resonate with your audience and give them something to talk about.
